To Write In English

For almost four years I have been writing articles on HubPages. It was very hard to get started, because my mother tongue isn't English. I had just studied English in school and spoken English to a friend for a short period of time. I was afraid I would forget all I had learned and wanted to start writing and reading English again. Then I found HubPages, and that gave me a chance to start writing. My first hub was called "My Cats Are From Egypt". I was very excited about the first comments I got on my first hubs, but somehow they didn't push me enough to keep writing.

I actually just wrote three hubs/articles that year in a few days. I stopped believing in myself and quit. I guess I was exhausted, too. It had taken much energy and time for me to complete these three hubs. Almost two years later I reaurned to HubPages, and now I felt ready to keep writing. I'm still writing and so far I've published 82 hubs. I'm sure there will be at least 82 more.

I learn so much every time I read and write hubs. I still learn many words in English. I know my way of writing is pretty simple, but I know I can get better. I can write this blog post without looking up any words. I'm not 100 percent sure everything can be understood by the reader, but I hope so. I'll keep writing in English. I love writing in this language.

And my mother tongue is Swedish...

I love this world of words and wonders!

How I Find Inspiration For My Writing

I have not written a hub or article for a couple of days now. My latest hub "Forest Creatures In Scandinavian Folklore" took me a couple of days to write. I got really inspired to write that article based on what I had experienced and based on pictures I had taken.

I ususally get my inspiration from nature. This inspiration can be seen in many of my poems. They are often a reflection of emotions that nature gives me. I'm also really fascinated about people and relationships between people. I like the way time changes things and relationships. This is also something that can be seen in my poetry.

Sometimes I'll find inspiration, when I read another hub or article. Many writers on HubPages have inspired me to keep writing. They have also inspiried me by leaving comments on my hubs. Inspiration is something I get when I hear, read, smell, feel, do or see something interesting. I want to describe all these feelings or experiences in words. That's how my hubs are born.

The problem I seem to have is not a lack of inspiration for my writing. It's rather the fact that I become too inspired and I can't choose what to write about. What inspires you as a writer?

Have a good summer Tuesday and keep writing!

New Mail

Today I'm happy, because I got the following mail from HubPages: "Hi Made, You have accomplished quite a feat; you have published 50 Featured Hubs! You did it. You are in the elite 1%. Thanks, HubPages" I guess I need to keep writing. I like it very much. I haven't really found a niche yet, but I tend to write many poems and also hubs about Finland and Scandinavia. Have a great day!

The First Time

Hi, it's always exciting the first time, isn't it? You never know what it's going to feel like after you've done it. Now I'll just publish this and wait. I'll wait to see if anyone finds this blog. Maybe, maybe not. You know, I'm a writer on HubPages. It's hard to call myself a writer, but I do write. The only way to become good at something is to do it over and over again. I want to become a better writer, and I hope I will succeed.
